Stimulating the senses, spoiling the mind.
This little booklet I made in the eighties for Ulises Carrion when I worked in his gallery Other Books And So. It was sent by mail and stamped by the postal system.
Great to have 8 pages; interview and work in this beautiful international magazine: Sentimental Journal from Linda Loenen and Helma Bongenaar. Lots of mail art from my archive! Correspondence nr. 5
It’s been quit a while since I was an active mail-art artist. I worked in Other Books And So with Ulises Carrión (his picture on the wall of my studio) and had my share of books, stamps, exhibitions etc.
These questions came in my mind: what is the meaning of mail art nowadays. Esp. in relation to all the communication we already have?
What does it do to for you?
Are there big players?
How does it work today?
How does mail art relate to other artforms?
I worked in the gallery:archive Other Books And So from Ulises. He had put this Stamp on my typed interview with him. Miss him..
