OPTREDEN RENATE JORG EN HENK FAKKELDIJ

Renate Jorg en nieuw kunstenaarslid Henk Fakkeldij hebben met het oog op het voorjaar de zomer en de vakantie allemaal muziek gekozen waarin speciale plekken of steden een rol spelen. Ze hoppen van Berlijn naar Bilbao en van Amsterdam naar Almere. Zij hebben het programma samengesteld uit bestaande nummers en een paar eigen songs. Sommige zijn bekend, andere obscuur. Renate speelt piano en zingt en Henk zingt. Met onder andere Bernstein, Porter, Weil en Piazzola.

The performance was great. Children sang the song well, and the children’s orchestra played great! Lots of happy scary moments. I read a Surinam ghost story.
Born from the chemical cocktail of Lithium and Beryllium as well as a touch of Liberty, they ended up with…Liberium! Well, let’s leave aside the chemical explanations and continue our journey:
Liberium consists of four artists – aka the “Liberii”- who translate their life experiences into a performance.
They are open to different means of expression: music, visuals arts, art of speech and who knows, maybe you can inspire them with new ideas…!
Who are they?
Liberium is formed by four passionate artists: Thomas Geerts (trumpet), Anouchka Scaillet (violin), Jarno va Es (piano) and last but not least, Henk Fakkeldij (anchor man and live graphics/drawings)
What do they do?
The Liberii have just launched their show “American Beauty” based on an idea from Thomas Geerts. They perform works composed by Gershwin, Ewazen, Geerts and van Es.
“American Beauty” casts a light on some great American composers, their life and their time. Henk Fakkeldij creates visual works as a reflection on the music, these creations are projected live during the show: this allows the audience to fully experience the process.
Through little interviews the audience really gets an insight on the process of creation and the personal stories of the musicians: what they want to express and the feelings they want to share with the audience making Liberium a very dynamic group.
Geerts and van Es are not only performing artists but also compose music based on their own experiences. Most of the music is based on love stories…not surprising is it?
At 13.02hrs and 44 seconds this photo of Thomas Geerts and me was taken. We had an interview because of the music theatre production: Wie wind zaait. Thomas is the composer and director and I am the singer and actor. That was fun. Thank you Radio/TV Noord Holland!

Zomeravond 2016. In het weiland bij Ransdorp zijn de contouren van een levensgrote kerk zichtbaar, gebouwd van truss-delen. Rondom de kerk is een dijk gebouwd. Op deze bijzondere locatie in de openlucht vindt de muziektheatervoorstelling WIE WIND ZAAIT plaats. Hier brengt het 30 man sterke blazersorkest De Waterlandse Harmonie samen met 15 zangers/toneelspelers en twee koren het hartverscheurende verhaal van Anna Bakker tot leven (zie hieronder). De duizenden liters water die omhoog gepompt worden, maken de beleving van de overstroming van 1916 invoelbaar. Een unieke kans om met 400 mensen, terwijl de zon in de polder ondergaat, de wind te horen huilen en het water te voelen stromen. Een belevenis waarover nog lang gesproken gaat worden.
